Job Description:
Trigyn has a contractual opportunity for GIS Assistant. This resource will be working at our client site in Somalia.
Responsibilities:
• Assist to produce clear and informative static maps using GIS tools for mission operations such as planning, field operations and briefings
• Update existing maps with new datasets to ensure the maps stay up to date and ensure all datasets used in the maps are well referenced and sourced.
• Create layouts by applying cartographic standards, symbology, templates, and naming conventions for printing, presentations and digital use.
• Assist in the creation of interactive mapping products in the geoportal by ensuring the proper cartographic standards have been established.
• Review the maps for accuracy and ensure consistency by performing quality assurance and adhering to client visual identity.
• Engage with stakeholders/partners to advise on the design, customization and visualization of mapping products and dissemination of map-based information products.
• Perform geo-processing and geo-spatial analysis as required.
• Support to the adoption of modern geospatial technologies to enhance digital transformation in the organization
• Assist in preparing training materials and providing training on the use of geospatial tools and products for capacity building
