Job Description:

Trigyn has a contractual opportunity for a Digital Accessibility Specialist. This is a remote position and the resource can work from any location.

Job Responsibilities:

The consultant will support the assessment of its application and website portfolio and strategic planning, implementation, and a range of digital inclusion initiatives to improve the overall accessibility compliance of the Office’s products and services in alignment with international accessibility standards and best practices.

The consultant will be expected to perform the following tasks:
1) Review and assess applications and websites against client web accessibility guidelines and other international standards and report on their compliance and provide remediation advice and support.
2) Assist in the drafting of strategic and operational digital accessibility guidance, checklists, project plans, and learning materials.
3) Assist in the development of digital accessibility training and learning materials to support culture change and technical skills development in OICT and the broader Secretariat.
4) Support technical evaluation of digital accessibility tools and services.
5) Perform other duties as may be reasonably required and in line with the incumbent’s scope of service above.

1) Submit a detailed accessibility testing report and provide guidance to address accessibility issues.
2) Virtual training materials on the creation of accessible web pages and how to identify issues.
3) Conduct training to developers and content managers
4) Providing technical assistance to client entities terms on digital accessibility, including input, review, and feedback of guidance and implementation materials.

Educational Qualification:
- Advanced university degree in a relevant field – IT, web design, software development, programming.
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience or certification in IT will also suffice.

- At least 7 years’ experience in working on WCAG, ARIA, GIGW, EN standards, ICT accessibility testing and auditing, etc.
- Previous experience in creation of accessible formats, specifically with the United Nations and/or other international organizations.
- Experience of conducting web and document accessibility training at the international level.
- Experience of working with assistive technologies e.g., JAWS and NVDA screen readers.
- Experience of working with persons with disabilities
