Job Description:
Trigyn has a contractual opportunity for Broadcasting Infrastructure. This resource will be working anywhere in Africa.
Job Responsibilities:
1.The contracted staff member would be required to work in conjunction with Communications Section staff under the direction of the Chief Communications to oversee the technical operation of the TV/Radio Studio and assume responsibility for the maintenance and repair of various equipment within the facility.
2. The duties of the staff would include but not be limited to:
a. Check that all the Radio-TV studio broadcasting equipment is in safe working order.
b. Performs maintenance and repair of all Radio-TV studio equipment
c. Repairs and perform preventative maintenance on various electronic equipment.
d. Researches and orders replacement parts as needed.
e. Redesign wiring schematics as appropriate to accommodate new equipment, and to assure the capability of all existing equipment.
f Provides technical supervision of the Radio-TV Studio operations and productions using practical knowledge of Ratio-TV studio equipment (Audio mixer, Video Mixer, various technology for audio video playing- recording media purposes)
g. Cooperates technical support for the production needs of academic departments, staff offices, and external users.
h. Maintain effective working relationships with these various constituents.
i. Maintain an adequate inventory of materials, supplies and electronic parts to assure the smooth and continuous operation of the Radio-TV studio.
j. Keeps abreast of the latest developments in television production technology as they relate to the Radio-TV studio.
k. Researches, collects and recommends to the Director the purchase of new Radio-TV Studio equipment in an effort to keep current with technology.
l. Knowledge in use of test instruments: Spectrum Analyzer, Power and Frequency Counter, Data Comms Test Set.
m. Set-up and use of Video Conference equipment and related interfaces.
n. Uninterruptible Power Supply, and On-Line Power Supplies.
o. Should have experience on handling and troubleshooting Apple Mac OS.
p. Should have experience on handling and troubleshooting Apple Final Cut Pro and Apple Final Cut Server.
3. Staff provided must have at least 5 years working experience working on this type of equipment, and have appropriate Technical college technical certificates
4. Must have a national driver's licence for a light motor vehicle.
5. Fluency in English, both written and oral, is required.
