Job Description:
Trigyn has a contractual opportunity for System Administrator. This resource will be working at our client site in Senegal.
Responsibilities:
The contracted personnel would be responsible for the efficient daily operation of client FTU, including creation of client strategic and operational fact sheet, data dashboard maintenance, administration of Server and network infrastructure including Virtual Machine (VM), Microsoft Windows Azure, O365 applications, client Enterprise applications and Linux based systems he/she will:
* Gather and scrutinize data using specialist tools to extract the data needed and generate information that helps senior management make decisions. Respond to questions about data and look for trends, patterns, and anomalies within it, setting up processes and systems to make working with data more efficient, researching new ways to make use of data producing reports and charts communicating trends within data to non-specialists, presenting information generated from data to section heads and senior management.
* Provide quality assurance of imported data, work with quality assurance analysts if necessary, Commissioning and decommissioning of data sets, Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata, Support the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements, Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization, Generate reports from single or multiple systems, Troubleshoot the reporting database environment and reports, Evaluate changes and updates to source production systems, Train end-users on new reports and dashboards, Provide technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
* Perform Virtual Server Infrastructure configuration, operation, maintenance, Active Directory Administration, VMware vSphere Suite and physical relocation of server system infrastructure when required.
* Ensure that operating systems are hardened and patched by applying all relevant and approved software updates, periodically. Generate reports to determine performance issues arising from all relevant factors such as hardware, software and network and undertake capacity planning. Further, monitors application operations and analyses system logs to evaluate security vulnerabilities and compromises. Knowledgeable in LAN, WAN, and TCP/IP as they pertain to application performance operation.
* Install Manage and troubleshoot ESX, network and VM Performance issues.
* Administrate Cloud Computing- Microsoft Azure & VMware Vcloud Suite, Cisco Unified Computing System, O365 Applications, share point, UN enterprise applications, etc.
* Work closely with other unit colleagues to ensure coordinated systems functionality, operation, and maintenance of all mission server system and network infrastructure elements.
* Troubleshoot, maintain, and support all UN standard applications such as Microsoft Operating systems and office Suites.
* Install, upgrade, maintain and administrate hardware, software on Microsoft windows, Linux operating systems based in both physical and Virtual (VM) infrastructure platforms including storage systems.
* Configure and maintain Linux and Windows system integration, Network File sharing, DNS, Active Directory, DHCP, etc.
* Configure and maintain systems backup and archiving.
* Perform software distributions, antivirus upgrades and client updates.
* Troubleshoot, install, and configure software applications such as MySQL database server, Web server; Create and maintain technical websites if needed.
* Setup, configure, and maintain all virtual infrastructure including hardware and OS maintenance.
* Monitoring system logs, maintaining system security, administrates user accounts, print servers, performs system security audits and documents system problems.
* Develop project plans and status reports for head of Unit.
* Sets up and maintains firewall, Cisco network switches.
* Assist Enterprise Operation Manager to participate in enterprise project deployment or resolve operational issues.
* Evaluates, tests, and validates new releases and variations of system configurations; analyzes and adjusts servers for performance and efficient operations; maintains high level optimization on an ongoing basis; develops and implements system monitoring procedures.
Knowledge/Skills: Following skill set are required for the mentioned job
* 5 years’ experience as System/server Administrator.
* Ability to analyze, model and interpret data; Problem-solving skills; A methodical and logical approach; The ability to plan work and meet deadlines.
* VMware Certified professional, Microsoft Azure solution Architect, Systems administration/System Engineer certification, Vblock Certification.
* Five years of experience working in a client Common system field operation or similar international organizations is required.
* Certification in ITIL is desirable.
* At least 5 years of experience in liaising with Global Service Center (GSC) at the United Nations Logistics Base in Brindisi (UNLB), and at the United Nations Support Base in Valencia (UNSBV), and other Field Missions on technical matters related to the FTS Server/VM administration support is desirable.
* Personnel must have a national driver’s license for a light motor vehicle and be able to drive light motor vehicles including 4X4 off road vehicles with manual transmission.
* Minimum Technical college certificate or university degree is required.
* Fluency in English, both written and oral, shall be necessary.
