Job Description:
SAP ABAP / BTP Development Lead with extensive experience in SAP custom development, enhancements, and cloud-based extensions. This role is responsible for leading ABAP and SAP BTP development activities across SAP implementation and transformation projects, ensuring high-quality technical design, scalable solutions, and adherence to SAP best practices and Clean Core principles.
Key Responsibilities
? Lead and manage SAP ABAP and SAP BTP development activities across SAP S/4HANA implementation and transformation projects.
? Design and oversee custom developments, enhancements, reports, interfaces, forms, and workflows in SAP S/4HANA.
? Define and enforce technical design standards, coding guidelines, and best practices across development teams.
? Architect and develop SAP BTP-based extensions using CAP, Fiori Elements, and side-by-side extensibility approaches.
? Lead Fiori/UI5 development and ensure alignment with SAP UX and performance standards.
? Collaborate closely with functional consultants, integration teams, and architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
? Support data migration and technical conversion activities, including Migration Cockpit, LTMC/LTMOM, and data validation.
? Perform and oversee code reviews, performance tuning, and remediation activities (SPAU/SPDD, custom code adaptation).
? Manage development deliverables across build, unit testing, integration testing, UAT support, and go-live phases.
? Support cutover planning, go-live readiness, and hypercare from a technical development perspective.
? Support the assignment, recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of ABAP/BTP developers, building and scaling development teams as required.
? Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality, timely delivery, and compliance with technical standards.
? Ensure proper technical documentation, including design specifications and development artifacts.
? Drive continuous improvement by adopting new SAP technologies, BTP services, and development
accelerators.

? SAP ABAP (OO ABAP, CDS Views, AMDP, Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits)
? SAP S/4HANA custom development and optimization
? SAP BTP:
o CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model)
o SAP Fiori Elements
o Business Application Studio (BAS)
? SAP UI5 / Fiori development
? OData services, REST APIs, and integration enablement
? SAP Integration awareness (SAP CPI / PI/PO – collaboration level)
? SAP Clean Core principles and extensibility strategies
? Version control and CI/CD concepts (Git – preferred)
Required Hands-On Experience
? 2–4 full-cycle SAP SF and SAP S/4HANA implementation
? Led ABAP development teams for for 2-4 SAP ECC to S/4HANA or Greenfield implementations
? Delivered form 2-4 SAP S/4HANA custom development projects
? Hands-on experience with BTP-based side-by-side extensions
? Experience supporting data migration and technical conversions
? Strong exposure to custom code remediation and performance optimization
? Experience working in onshore–offshore delivery models
Certifications:
? SAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP for SAP S/4HANA
? SAP BTP Certification (preferred)
? SAP Fiori / UI5 Certification (preferred)
Ideal Candidate Profile
? Ex-Employee of: SAP , Accenture , Deloitte, KPMG ,IBM, NTTData -(minimum 3 years preferred)
? Experience working on large SAP transformation or S/4HANA programs
? Willingness to travel to Qatar when required
? Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and functional
9–12 years overall experience
5+ years in SAP ABAP technical leadership and development roles
