Job Description:

Our client - a major utility firm based out of Westchester County, NY - has an immediate need for an Office / Customer Service Assistant. The particulars of the position are as follows.

Project Overview:
Provide basic office services support, including mail sorting & delivery, receiving/distribution of packages and office supplies and bank deposits. Operate postage machines, postal scale, computer and other mailroom equipment and may assist in the repro room.

Job Functions & Responsibilities:
• Receive, sort and distribute internal (according to mail runs) and external mail.
• Operate postage metering machines, postal scale, and mailroom equipment
• Complete certified, registered and overnight mail forms.
• Enter data into express mail services computer.
• Prepare packages (packing, taping) for UPS and FedEx packages.
• Distribute small quantities of office, reproduction and computer supplies.
• Log the receipt of packages into SAP system.
• Keep a signature log of all delivered packages.
• Deliver material to storage areas of the party who ordered the materials.
• Set-up and maintain a storage area for office supplies. This includes monitoring inventory and maintaining records of supply levels.
• Initiate and fax orders to office supply vendor for next day delivery.
• Maintain itineraries, office supply reports and overnight mail logs.

Skills:
• Demonstrate a high level of Customer Service while paying close attention to schedules and respond to unplanned requests.
• Maturity and presence to work effectively with building management, and potential vendors and contractors.
• Ability to operate and maintain all office equipment.
• Must demonstrate friendliness and ability to show humor and resiliency in high demand situations.

Education & Certifications:
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• One year of experience in all phases of Mail and Receiving processes preferred
• Knowledge of Mailroom equipment.
