Job Description:
Trigyn's direct government client has an immediate need for a Mainframe Specialist in Albany, NY.
Description:
• Perform problem determination and resolution
• Participate in Disaster Recovery tests
• Participate in On-call rotation
• Perform Security Health checking
• Participate in Audits.
• Participate and as required manage activities related to the installation, customization and management of the z/OS operating system.
• Coordinate activities with support staff to ensure appropriate support is provided.
• Proactively monitor networks working with the Enterprise Network teams and developers to identify, manage and correct issues.
• Work independently to diagnose and correct problems as they arise within the system.
• Mentor state staff.
• Monitor CICS regions.
Mandatory Qualification:
• Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer.
• Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
• 84 Months experience maintaining and administering a multi-region CICSplex.
• 84 Months Experience performing problem diagnostics and resolution in a z/OS environment
• 84 Months Experience fine tuning z/OS performance parameters
• 84 Months experience analyzing z/OS abend dumps
• 12 months experience with RACF security administration
• 72 Months experience OMEGAMON use
• 24 Months Experience maintaining and operating MQ subsystems.
