Job Description:
Background and objectives
This service is required to augment the capabilities of the group responsible for enhancing operational capabilities, specifically in multimedia productions related to best practice and learning and development programmes.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the development of video scripts and other multimedia content that clearly explain the organization's products, services, policies, and regulations. These materials are designed for a wide range of training and capacity development programmes within the organization targeting the global audience. Subject areas include human resources, finance, logistics, environmental management, procurement, medical support, governance, resource management, and integrated operational support.
The concerned group of the organization delivers operational training, including instruction on enterprise resource management systems, and serves as the Secretariat’s lead service for business process management and capacity development initiatives.
Work assignment
The Junior Media Producer will support the Programme Management Officer in the end-to-end production of multimedia content. Responsibilities will include:
• Developing video scripts and creative concepts
• Identifying, editing, and organizing existing footage
• Repurposing and reformatting video content for different platforms and audiences
• Filming on location as needed and assisting with all aspects of production
• Writing concise and compelling promotional copy to accompany video releases
• Selecting and curating featured content to ensure final products meet the organization's specifications, including delivery of all related project files
The selected candidate will also support the planning and coordination of virtual discussions or webinars designed to promote the videos and encourage audience engagement.
The consultant is expected to use their own professional video editing equipment. The organization will provide access to its licensed stock content database to support production needs.
Duty station or location of assignment
Travel is not required for this project. However, the selected candidate will be expected to work on-site for the majority of the assignment and must be physically present at the New York office at least three days per week.
Performance indicators
To ensure the successful delivery of multimedia products, the Media Producer/Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for the following:
• Collaborative Content Development: Work closely with the designated focal point to identify content priorities, co-develop video concepts, and refine scripts to align with strategic messaging and objectives.
• Audience-Centered Approach: Tailor each product to the specific context and goals of the initiative, ensuring relevance and resonance with the intended audience.
• Quality Assurance and Responsiveness: Monitor and evaluate the quality and impact of deliverables throughout the production process. Incorporate feedback from the team in a timely and constructive manner, making necessary adjustments to secure approval of the final product.
• Coordination and Communication: Maintain close collaboration with the focal point throughout all phases of video production. When relevant, liaise with additional team members to ensure coherence and alignment across projects.
Qualifications
The consultant is expected to meet the following requirements:
• A university degree or formal training in communications, filmmaking, or a related field, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in video production and editing is required.
• A demonstrated track record of excellence in video editing, production, and post-production.
• Proficiency in industry-standard editing software, including Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere Pro, and related tools.
• Strong command of English, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ideally, the consultant will also possess the following qualifications:
• Prior experience working with the United Nations or other international organizations.
• A strong understanding of the project’s purpose and context, with the flexibility to respond to CDOTS’ evolving needs and the technical and editorial expertise to contribute meaningfully to content development.
• Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
