Trigyn has a contractual opportunity for a IT Support and Management Support Technician. This resource will be working from the client site in Haiti.
Job Description:
The technician will provide Tier 1 ICT support and assist in IT service management for client office operations located in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. This includes troubleshooting, maintenance, and deployment of ICT systems to ensure mission-critical connectivity and operational continuity.
Note: This position will be deployed in a conflict zone (Haiti) under client operational conditions. Personnel must be prepared to work in austere environments with heightened security risks, limited infrastructure, and strict security protocols.
II. Equipment Scope
The staff will install, configure, and maintain, including but not limited to:
• End-user devices: laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones.
• Unified Communications systems: VoIP phones, video conferencing equipment.
• Network connectivity devices: switches, routers, wireless access points (basic troubleshooting only).
• Peripheral devices: printers, scanners, UPS systems.
• Collaboration platforms: Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Printing protocols: configuration and troubleshooting of network printers and print servers.
III. Technical Knowledge
Working knowledge of:
• Microsoft 365 technologies (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive) for Tier 1 support.
• Basic network troubleshooting for WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi issues to escalate to Tier 2.
• Printing protocols (e.g., TCP/IP printing, print queues, drivers).
• Windows OS administration (user profiles, updates, patching).
• Basic understanding of ICT security principles (password policies, MFA).
IV. Duties
The technician will perform, but not be limited to:
• Provide Tier 1 end-user support for Microsoft 365 applications and services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware/software issues for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
• Assist users with Teams meetings, SharePoint access, and OneDrive synchronization.
• Perform initial diagnostics for WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity issues and escalate to Tier 2 when required.
• Configure and maintain network printers, troubleshoot print queues, and manage printer drivers.
• Support ICT asset management and inventory control.
• Provide user training and guidance on ICT tools and best practices.
• Maintain compliance with client ICT security standards.
V. Microsoft 365 and Azure
The technician will support and assist in the administration of the organization’s Microsoft 365 and Azure environment, including:
Microsoft 365 Administration
• Manage Microsoft 365 user accounts, licenses, and group memberships.
• Administer SharePoint Online sites, permissions, and document libraries.
• Support deployment and configuration of Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) across devices.
Intune & Mobile Device Management (MDM)
• Enroll, configure, and manage end-user devices (Windows, iOS, Android) using Microsoft Intune.
• Deploy and update applications remotely via Intune App Management.
• Apply and monitor device compliance policies and configuration profiles.
• Perform remote wipe or selective wipe of lost or decommissioned devices in accordance with client ICT policies.
• Troubleshoot Intune enrollment failures and device compliance issues for end users.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of managed devices within the Intune portal.
VI. Networking Skills
Minimal but essential:
• Ability to identify and report connectivity issues (WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi).
• Familiarity with IP addressing and basic troubleshooting commands (ping, ipconfig).
• Escalate unresolved network issues to Tier 2 support promptly.
VII. Experience & Certification
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in ICT end-user support roles.
• Appropriate Technical College Certificates or equivalent professional certifications (CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation preferred).
• Experience in international mission environments is desirable.
• National driver’s license for light motor vehicles is an asset.
VIII. Language
• Fluency in English, both written and oral, is required.
• French is highly desirable as an additional language.
