Job Description:

Trigyn has a contractual opportunity for ICT End-User HW/SW Support (AASTRA PABX). This resource will be working at our client site in Western Sahara.

1. PABX Telephone Technician will install, operate and maintain Mitel/Aastra/Ericsson PABX based voice Telephone Network and related infrastructure throughout the area of operation to the highest level of reliability and efficiency as established by the United Nations.

2. Technician will be tasked to install, configure, operate and maintain, but not limited to, the full range of MD110 and MX-ONE TS along with related auxiliary and ancillary support equipment, including IP telephones.

3. List of telephony duties would include, but not limited to the following:
- PABX installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance.
- Installation, operation and maintenance of legacy and IP DECT network.
- Documenting the mission telephony network.
- Installation and maintenance of structured cabling.
- Collection of billing data and ensuring integrity it.
- Liaising with client relating to telephony matters.

4. Technician should have experience of interconnecting circuit switched and packet switched telephony systems using analogue, digital signaling such as QSIG and IP trunking, H.323 and SIP.

5. Given the prevalence of IP telephony, knowledge of LAN protocols is expected. CCNA certification is required.

6. Technician will assist with installing and maintaining HF/VHF radios. Familiarity with Codan/Barret HF and Motorola VHF radios will be advantage.

7. Experience of microwave links is required.

8. Experience of C band satellite earth stations and related hardware such as modems, transceivers would be an advantage.

9. Familiarity with video conferencing would be an advantage.

10. Frequent travel to team sites in isolated locations is required for maintenance and installation of communication infrastructure. Mission will provide accommodation and food at these locations.

11. Staff deployed to field missions must have national driving license for light vehicles, including 4x4 off-road vehicles, with manual transmission. Ability to drive will be verified on arrival in the mission area to ensure that the technician can safely handle a motor vehicle.

12. Fluency in English, both written and oral is required.
