Job Description:
Role Overview
We are looking for a Firewall Audit Expert (Palo Alto) to conduct a comprehensive security and configuration audit of enterprise firewall environments. The consultant will assess current firewall policies, identify vulnerabilities, and provide actionable recommendations for compliance, optimization, and improved security posture.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform end-to-end firewall configuration and security audits for Palo Alto environments.
• Review rule base, objects, zones, and address groups for optimization and compliance.
• Identify redundant, shadowed, or overly permissive rules and recommend remediations.
• Validate configurations against security policies, compliance standards, and best practices.
• Generate detailed audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and corrective actions.
• Support remediation planning and policy refinement.
• Collaborate with security and network operations teams to ensure alignment with governance frameworks.
Required Skills
• Proven track record conducting firewall audits and security assessments.
• Strong understanding of network security, rule optimization, and threat prevention.
• Familiarity with tools like Panorama, Expedition, or similar for audit automation.
• Experience aligning with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS preferred).
• Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
Nice to Have
• Palo Alto Networks certification (PCNSE / PCCSE / PCNSA).
• Exposure to multi-vendor firewall environments (Fortinet, Check Point, etc.).
• Experience in large enterprise or data Center environments.
