Job Description:

Our client - a major utility firm based out of Westchester County, NY - has an immediate need for a Financial Controls & Reporting Analyst. The particulars of the position are as follows.

Project Overview
The consultant is responsible for executing daily and/or project-related activities supporting the Controller’s group.

Job Functions & Responsibilities:
• Support the accounting team with updating process control documentation.
• Support the accounting team with updating of financial policies and procedures.
• Design drillable dashboards to track overdue/outstanding compliance related items (i.e. policies, internal control deficiencies, etc.) and perform follow-up actions to bring items current.
• Assist in preparing mid-year and annual financial reports according to the Governmental accounting standards and other applicable regulatory requirements including preparation of supporting schedules.
• Support collaborating with cross-functional teams, to gather and analyze financial and non-financial data for inclusion in external reports.
• Support the accounting team with annual audit requirements and work with external auditors to meet the annual audit completion deadline.
• Accurately analyze and collect data for various types of business reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the functional area of accounting/reporting and financial controls.

Skills:
• Strong O365 Microsoft Skills, especially Excel, Tableau or Power BI skills preferred
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects.
• Demonstrated ability to work in teams and interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.

Education & Certifications:
• 3- 5 years of full-time experience in auditing/accounting with bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
