Case Study: Centralized IoT Security and Facilities Management for a Bank
Background:
Trigyn’s client is a large private-sector banks, with a nationwide footprint spanning thousands of retail branches, offices, and high-risk facilities. Because operational continuity and rapid incident response are critical to the bank, it places high priority on the safety and security of its customers, infrastructure, and assets.
As the bank expanded its physical and digital presence, it identified limitations in its existing security and surveillance setup. The legacy environment relied on distributed monitoring systems, manual interventions, and localized response mechanisms, which restricted enterprise-wide visibility and often resulted in inconsistent or delayed incident response. Information flow back to central leadership was fragmented, limiting real-time situational awareness and decision-making.
To address these challenges, the bank envisioned establishing a centralized, in-house surveillance and command centre capable of delivering real-time, enterprise-wide security management with integrated analytics and reporting. In 2015, Trigyn Technologies was selected as the Master Service Provider to design, implement, and operate the solution. Trigyn was subsequently engaged to implement a major modernization of the solution including ongoing management and operation of the command-and-control centre.
Solution Overview:
Trigyn designed and implemented a Centralized Command and Control Centre that unifies surveillance, fire and intrusion detection, video management, intelligent video analytics, and incident response workflows into a single operational platform.
The solution enables centralized monitoring and control across more than 6,300 locations nationwide, including retail branches, administrative offices, and currency chests. A wide range of Internet of Things (IoT) security infrastructure, such as cameras, fire and intrusion sensors, alarm control panels, and sounders, has been integrated into a common platform that supports high-volume alert handling, live video access, playback, and analytics.
The command centre operates on a 24x7 basis, staffed by trained operators and technical support teams. Alerts generated at branch locations are routed in real time to the command centre, where operators respond using predefined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Based on incident type and severity, response actions may include stakeholder notifications, coordination with field engineers, or engagement with emergency response teams.
The solution was architected using advanced IoT e-surveillance and video management technologies, ensuring optimized bandwidth utilization while maintaining real-time monitoring, rapid response, and scalability.
Trigyn Approach:
Trigyn assumed end-to-end responsibility for the design, delivery, and ongoing operation of the centralized command centre under a Managed Services model.
Key components of Trigyn’s role include:
- Design, setup, and management of command centre IT hardware and software infrastructure
- Design, implementation, and support of the Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC) and Video Management Systems including Intelligent Video Analytics
- Integration, configuration, and testing of branch-level IoT surveillance, fire, and intrusion systems
- 24x7 operational support through dedicated operators, supervisors, and technical teams
- Coordination with system integrators, OEMs, security teams, and field engineers
- Support for branch staff related to surveillance systems, footage access, and system operations
- Remote video monitoring of currency chests and other high-risk locations
- Migration and ongoing support on the Veracity platform
- Use of a centralized content management system (CMS) to manage operational workflows, incident tracking, maintenance tickets, engineer visits, and footage requests
Trigyn continues to operate and enhance the command centre, ensuring consistent service levels, governance, and continuous improvement.
Scale of Operations:
The centralized IoT command centre currently supports security operations at significant national scale:
- 6,302+ locations integrated and monitored centrally
- 125,000+ IoT cameras integrated for live monitoring and recording
- 10,000+ NVRs supporting centralized video storage
- 145,000+ IoT fire and intrusion sensors generating real-time alerts
- 6,300+ alarm panels and sounders enabling pre-emptive incident mitigation
Operational volumes supported include 200,000+ alerts handled per month, 50,000+ field engineer visits supported annually, and 2,000+ video footage requests supported annually.
Outcome:
The centralized IoT command centre has delivered a step change in security operations and operational resilience for the bank. Key outcomes include:
- Enterprise-wide, real-time visibility across thousands of locations across the country
- Faster, standardized, and more reliable incident detection and response
- Improved coordination among branches, security teams, field engineers, and emergency responders
- Enhanced decision-making through operational dashboards, analytics, and reports
- A scalable, future-ready platform supporting continued growth and evolving security requirements
The command centre implementation has received prestigious national recognition from trade associations.
