ESIS is a subsidiary of CIGNA Corporation. As a part of insurance business it provides coverage for employees of various companies against accidents. 
Customer Needs
ESIS required a system that would capture and process accident information and allow the user to produce various State reports for employees who met with an accident. 
Our Solution
Trigyn developed the First Notice Of Loss application using Three-Tier architecture and relies heavily on ActiveX technology. The client side user interfaces are built as ActiveX controls and displayed using an ActiveX document to be viewed in Internet Explorer on Windows 95/NT client. The middle tier business objects are in the form of an ActiveX DLL implemented on a Windows NT Server using Microsoft Internet Information Server. Data communication across the three tiers is carried out using ActiveX Data Objects (ADO).

ESIS is a subsidiary of CIGNA Corporation. As a part of insurance business it provides coverage for employees of various companies against accidents.
Customer Needs
CIGNA sells different insurance services like Workers Compensation, Property Insurance, General Insurance and Automobile Insurance to its customer companies. These companies are provided with a toll free telephone number (1-800-) to be used by their employees in case of an accident. 

CIGNA required a dial-up accident reporting service for ESIS 
Our Solution
Trigyn developed, ESIS 1-800 Rapid Reporting System application, a dial-up accident reporting service for ESIS.

When an accident occurs, the victim or a contact of the victim will dial up the service and report the incident. An operator at the CIGNA office will receive the call and begin to ask the caller a series of questions pertaining to the accident. The set of questions being asked will be selected dynamically depending on various parameters like state, LOB, etc. On completion the operator will determine the priority of the call (Minor, Transported by Ambulance, Fatal etc.) and mark the call as complete. A validator will then verify the call, print universal forms and send them across to the Claim Offices.
Filing and Regulation department of CIS - Filing and Tracking System

Customer Needs
The Filing and Regulation department of CIS required an application to provide a means of tracking filing, for rate change and form change, through state regulatory process. 

Our Solution
Trigyn developed the Filing and Tracking System software package to meet the requirements. The system allows maintaining the state laws and indicating the filing status in various states.

As per US jurisdiction, when insurance companies make any change to policy related forms and premium rates, they have to get it approved from the state governments, before they can float these changes in the respective states. Different states have different rules to process these applications and these rules were integrated into the system to monitor status of various filings for the company.
Boiler Engineering Account Computerized Online Navigator (Beacon)

Customer Needs
In US, various jurisdictions require mandatory inspection of certain machinery and processes, which are hazardous in nature. The inspection needs to be carried out by the skilled personnel (specialists) of the insuring company. The field specialists carry out these inspections and regional / area managers allocate work to them.

The Loss Control Services (LCS) department of Cigna required an application to schedule tasks, track inspection results and prepare jurisdictional and engineering reports for their three product lines: Power generation, General Property and Oil, Gas & Petrol (OG&P) 
Our Solution
Trigyn designed and developed the Boiler Engineering Account Computerized Online Navigator (Beacon) system.

The field specialists use the system with local database on their laptops. There is a central database at home office and all the managers are directly connected to it. Part of data like account, new locations, etc. is populated by managers at HO database. This is replicated to the laptops of the field specialists through SQL Anywhere replication. As and when field specialists perform inspections, they enter information on their laptops and it replicates to the HO database. 

The system has an interface with POLO (Property On-Line Operations) application. Accounts, locations and programs created in POLO are migrated to this system.

RSI is a sister concern of CIGNA Insurance Group, involved in the business of recovering the expenses incurred on various insurance claims.
Customer Needs
RSI required a package to maintain a log of all the Claims filed for any policy and utilize it to recover the claimed expenses from the appropriate persons / organistaion responsible for the incident.
Our Solution
This project was a joint effort by BSS and Trigyn. BSS got the project from CIGNA Insurance Group and did the Requirements Analysis and Specifications. Then Trigyn constructed and tested the application.

One of the main feature of this System is the Time-Sliced, Transactional, Relation Database. In this type of Data Model no data is ever deleted or overwritten. This is achieved by using two timestamp fields in each record, namely Creation Timestamp and Expiry Timestamp. Whenever a record is created it is inserted with the current time as the Creation Timestamp. When any record is updated, the old record is expired by updating the Expiry Timestamp with the current time and inserting a new record with the changed values and the current time as the Creation Timestamp. Similarly for a delete operation, the record is updated with current time as Expiry Timestamp. Since, for any database operation a timestamp is tagged, therefore when a user queries the database, the latest information from non-expired records are fetched and presented.
Recovery System International(RSI)

Customer Needs
CIGNA is in the phase of Migration for one of their modules in Risk Advantage Application. They wanted to migrate their existing application from IBM mainframe to Client Server technology. 
Our Solution
As a first step towards the migration, Trigyn completed the Outbound Data Element Analysis and Program Analysis. The analysis will assist CIGNA in database design and business rule formulation for the new application. The Outbound Data Analysis includes identification of the outbound elements, capturing their source and the necessary transformation Logic. The Program Analysis involves extraction of business rules and processing logic from the source code (COBOL Programs, JCL’s/Proc’s).

The challenge in Outbound Data Element Analysis lied in extraction of the Transformation Logic from source element to target element, as there can be multiple paths for transformation. Extracting the business logic from COBOL code having no documentation was also a rigorous task.
